Took advantage of the cloudy day to head to the Floresta de Tijuca, aka the Tijuca National Forest. Just for the sounding-smart-when-I-talk-to-people knowledge, it is the largest hand planted forest in the world. While we saw no monkeys, toucans or blue macaus, we hiked quite a few trails, crossed some streams, saw some waterfalls and walked a little more than five miles through the forest. Hiking through the rain forest, not a typical day for people from New Mexico and Colorado.
